McWicked rejoins the top 10 in this week’s poll

Hightstown, NJ — McWicked rejoined the top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll following his victory in the Dan Rooney Invitational Pace on Saturday at Yonkers Raceway. The 8-year-old pacing stallion, who was the 2018 Horse of the Year in both the U.S. and Canada, was ranked No. 9. His most recent previous appearance in the top 10 came in week 14 of the voting, when he was No. 10.

Pacing mare Shartin N remained No. 1, followed by 3-year-old colt trotter Greenshoe and 3-year-old colt pacer Bettor’s Wish.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
