Allywag Hanover joins Top 10 in Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

Hightstown, NJ — Allywag Hanover, who upset Bulldog Hanover in the Allerage Open Pace with a world-record effort, joined the Top 10 in the Week 19 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Tuesday. The 5-year-old landed at No. 8 in the rankings and was one of two newcomers to the upper echelon.

Twin B Joe Fresh, who won a division of the International Stallion Stakes last week, moved up to No. 10 in the poll. The 2-year-old female pacer has finished no worse than second in all 10 starts this season, winning eight.

Otherwise, no horses changed positions in the Top 10. Bulldog Hanover remained No. 1 but saw Allerage Mare Pace winner Test Of Faith, ranked third, take away one of his first-place votes. Joviality S stayed at No. 2, five points ahead of Test Of Faith, after finishing second in the Kentucky Filly Futurity.

Cool Papa Bell, who was third in the Kentucky Futurity, and idle Sylvia Hanover dropped from the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
