Bulldog Hanover tops Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

Hightstown, NJ — A new week, a new No. 1 in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. Bulldog Hanover grabbed the top spot in this week’s rankings, becoming the fourth different horse to ascend to No. 1 in the poll’s six weeks.

Bulldog Hanover won last weekend’s Graduate Series final for 4-year-old male pacers in 1:46.1 at The Meadowlands one week after capturing a division of the Roll With Joe Stakes in 1:46 to equal the fastest mile in harness racing history. Bulldog Hanover has won five consecutive starts.

Dropping from first to second was idle Joviality S while Graduate Series Mare Pace champion Test Of Faith moved from fourth to third, swapping places with idle Jimmy Freight. Rounding out the top five was Graduate Series Mare Trot winner Bella Bellini.

There was one newcomer to the Top 10, with Meadowlands Pace elimination winner and final morning-line favorite Beach Glass arriving at No. 8.

Atlanta dropped out of the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
